About the Role
Schedule: Weekend hours available.
This client is a 9-year-old girl. The client is anemic, so her immune system is low and she is having health problems the family is working on addressing. She is also teething and biting and chewing a lot, mostly blankets and towels. Family would like help going to church on Sundays. Client has trouble with stairs; it has been taking 2 people to get her upstairs at church. As long as they can get help with transitions. Parent doesn't go every Sunday but would want for the client to get some interactions with other kids safely and in similar ways as her peers the best that she can. If the family don't go to church, the DSP can take the client on the swing at the park or back yard on nice days for physical activity.
The job tasks would be mostly supporting this client with her daily routine - Lunch (via g tube), medication, brushing her teeth, and an activity depending on the weather. Assisting with transitions, transferring and positioning, behavior support, and communication skills.
The family would like a trial period with any potential DSP to make sure that it's a good fit for everyone before agreeing to a permanent position.DSP should also be aware the client's mom has ADHD and Autism as well.
