About the Role
Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday 3pm-8pm.
The client is a 7-year-old boy and has a diagnosis of autism and ADHD. The family is looking for a DSP that is energetic, able to keep up with the client, is consistent and help the client follow a set routine. DSP will assist client with emotional regulation and building fine motor skills and communication skills. The family has 3 cats and 2 dogs, so DSP must be comfortable around animals and be a non-smoker. Transportation is not needed. Client gets very excited meeting new people so when a DSP is interested, they would like to ensure they are sensitive to this.
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
