About the Role
Schedule: approx 15 hours per week. Family is flexible with scheduling.
Fridays /Saturdays Anything before 7pm;
Weekdays 4:00pm-7:00pm
About the Client:
We are seeking a compassionate, adventurous, and culturally aware DSP to work with a bright, energetic, and curious 3-year-old client. Our client has a remarkable knowledge of dinosaurs. He enjoys engaging with others, especially in social settings like OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), and has a playful and silly personality, often laughing and sharing his dry sense of humor. He also has a passion for trucks, cars, and all things adventurous.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support in social-emotional regulation and self-regulation skills development.
- Assist with daily routines, including eating skills (taking smaller bites of food) and personal care (client is fully potty trained).
- Monitor and address physical aggression triggers as observed, working with family to identify causes and develop strategies.
- Provide guidance, helping him express frustrations appropriately.
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling - each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s),
Smart phone - use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive - caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving - depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support - develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager.
