About the Role
Schedule: (3 days available - flexible on days)
12pm-4pm
We are seeking a support professional to assist a 40-year-old male with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in his daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with adults on the spectrum and possess the skills necessary to foster independence and confidence.
Client is seeking a DSP that can support an active lifestyle and encourage/develop socialization skills. Ideal candidate would be familiar with the Portland area or open to exploring the area for community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide general reminders and assistance with daily tasks.
Help schedule and follow up on appointments.
Offer patient guidance and support while empowering the client to make choices.
Lead the client in tackling daily responsibilities with a structured approach.
Qualifications:
Experience working with adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential.
A patient and understanding demeanor, with the ability to provide options and encouragement.
2-3 years of DSP experience
Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.
Professionalism and reliability are a must.
Transportation preferred, but not required
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
