Schedule:
Sundays - 8am-8pm (12 hours)
Mondays - 8am-8pm (12 hours)
Wednesdays - 8am-8pm (12 hours)
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable caregiver to assist an adult man with cerebral palsy with his activities of daily living and personal care. The client is wheelchair bound and needs a caregiver comfortable supporting with transferring and positioning him as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience with a Hoyer lift or be willing to learn and must be able to provide transportation. The client has a large van available to use. The day shifts are 2:1 shifts where the caregiver will work closely with another DSP to provide care to the client.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily care and assistance to the client including support with hygiene, bathing, housework, meal prep, dressing, and transferring/positioning.
Support the client in engaging in preferred activities out in the community, providing transportation as needed.
Assist with medication management and ensure proper administration of medications as prescribed.
Collaborate with other caregivers to ensure the client's needs are met.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Experience with Hoyer lift.
Dependable - the client requires 24-hour care and must always have a DSP with him.
Requisitos
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
