About the Role
Schedule:
Thursday & Friday 4PM-7pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-3pm
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an active sweet 4 year old boy with Autism.
About the Client:
Communicates by pointing and is learning to use an AAC device
Is sensitive in public settings
Responds best to a calm and patient approach
Key Responsibilities:
Provide care and assistance to the client, including support with eating, toileting And social skills
Maintain constant supervision of client.
Manage potential behavior challenges that may arise including
Emotional dysregulation by providing guidance on acceptable responses
and redirecting him when necessary
Qualifications:
Experience with younger children with Autism.
Ability to remain calm and supportive during challenging moments
Must be comfortable with commuting to the clients home (use zip-code 97230 for commute reference)
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
