Description:
19-year-old young man, looking for a fun and supportive DSP. He would like support in the home with organizing his room, washing his laundry properly, keeping his bathroom clean while using cleaning products safely, and cooking. Currently he can make mac & cheese, pizza, and eggs, and would like to learn additional simple recipes.
He would also like support in the community. A DSP that can provide transportation is preferred, but a DSP can also assist him to use public transportation. He is interested in going to the grocery store, library, bookstore, game class, and exploring potential activities like an art class, comic con, or other group activities. He attends a martial arts class M/W/F until around 8pm and could use support getting there, during the class if he gets overwhelmed, and getting home on time.
Other supports a DSP can provide include communication support to understand others and express himself, especially when in the community. Client has a particularly hard time understanding individuals with strong accents due to a speech processing disorder. If the client gets frustrated, the DSP can help him such as giving him space when requested or talking through things. Family has 2 dogs in the home.
