About the Role
Schedule:
Mondays and Tuesdays 2:30 pm – 5:00pm
Occasional weekend shifts: available to accompany family outings
Job Description:
We are looking for an engaging and fun DSP to provide support for a positive individual who is described as a “ball of sunshine” by his family. This client is known for his positive attitude and is passionate about music, video games, computers and cats! He needs someone who is patient and is willing to work with him on his ADLs, hygiene and basic household tasks such as doing his laundry and tidying up his room. The right DSP is open to accompanying the family on occasional weekend outings like the zoo. The mother of the client is open to finding the right DSP who is looking for something long term and interested in working the summer schedule as well.
Responsibilities:
Assist client in light household tasks
Learn and engage client in discussions about traffic safety
Assist with client’s ADLs and hygiene
Qualifications:
Must be vaccinated for flu/MMR
There are 2 dogs and 2 cats in the home-- must love animals
Driver required
Must be comfortable with commuting to the clients home (use zip-code 97202 for commute reference)
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager 1A
