About the Role

Schedule:
Before school Mon-Fri 7am-8:45am
After school Wed-Fri 3:30pm-8:30pm

Needs: This 6-year-old girl is a curious child who loves being around other kids. She has limited verbal communication, and can get frustrated easily, leading to some escalated behaviors, i.e. crying, shouting, physical aggression. The client should be supervised by the DSP throughout each shift. DSP needs to be patient and keep her engaged i.e. reading books together, singing, talking together, taking her into the community for activities, etc. Overall, she’s a very active kid who flourishes when she gets to play with her favorite toys, go to the park, and interact with other people.

Requirements:
DSP must provide transportation to and from school for this client (auto insurance required).
DSP must be comfortable traveling to client’s home in SE Portland. Please use Essex Park for a commute reference.

Qualifications:
Previous experience with de-escalation preferred but not required.
English/Spanish bilingual providers preferred, but just English is okay. (Her mother primarily speaks Spanish, but her English is good, too.)

Must be comfortable with commuting to the clients home (use zip-code 97206 for commute reference)
