About the Role

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am-3pm

Job Description: Family is looking for a DSP for their 16-year-old son, who shares some of their son's interests, such as gaming, bowling, cosplay, bike riding, and is maybe a coffee-drinker, as the client enjoys one cup each morning. Family would like someone who is flexible and able to adapt to changes to routine and needs, and has some experience as a DSP. The client's family would like him to be supported in behavior management, community Involvement, meal preparation, emotional regulation, medication and money management, personal hygiene, and routine/structure building. A Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP) is being developed, so experience with behavior support is preferred, as well as experience with ASD, ADHD, developmental delays, and medication management. The ability to provide transportation is also desired, as well as some who is able and willing to provide relief care.

Requirements

Daily Requirements: 

  • Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s) 

  • Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes. 

  • Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift. 

  • Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments.  Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.  

  • Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
