Location is picking up in Sherwood and going to moms house in SW Portland, sometimes would need to provide care at fathers house in NW Portland. (Mileage reimbursement provided by family)
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a creative 15 year old girl with Autism.
About the Client:
Creative and has a great sense of humor
Has a PDA profile and is demand avoidant
Responds best to patient calm individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide care and assistance to the client, including supporting her with routines and social skills
Pick up from School during weekdays. (parents will provide mileage reimbursement)
Understand a PDA profile and do not attempt ABA skills.
Manage potential behavior challenges that may arise including Emotional dysregulation by providing guidance on acceptable responses
Without making it feel like a demand.
Qualifications:
Experience with PDA profile/Autism
Ability to remain calm and supportive during challenging moments
Good driving record
Requisitos
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
