About the Role
Schedule:
Saturday/Sundays 9:15AM-8:30PM
Mondays 8:15AM-8:30PM
Position is currently on-call, with a potential to shift into a permanent role.
About this client:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled DSP to support a vibrant 22-year-old woman with special needs who uses a wheelchair. This role involves a mix of personal care, companionship, and community engagement.
Support Needs Include:
Assistance with ADLs/IADLs including bathing and toileting (urethral and abdominal access)
Companion care and chaperoning for outings (e.g., mall, nail salon, library)
Medication administration via g-tube
Meal preparation and support with a home exercise plan prescribed by OT/PT
RN delegation required for full-day shifts (training provided by LTCCN)
Additional Requirements:
Must be comfortable with dogs (two in the home)
Must be LGBTQIA+ affirming and respectful of diverse family dynamics
Must be reliable, patient, and confident in managing both routine and delegated medical tasks
Experience with mobility support, g-tube care, or delegated nursing tasks is highly preferred
Must be comfortable with commuting to the clients home (use zip-code 97007 for commute reference)
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
