What is a DSP?

DSP stands for Direct Support Professional. DSPs provide one-on-one caregiving for clients with Intellectual and/or Developmental disabilities. This role involves caring for a client on an individual basis in their home and may also include taking them out into the community to learn skills and socialize. This role varies depending on the client but can involve teaching skills of independent living such as self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping and cleaning as well as helping clients accomplish their goals. Family Relief Resources is not a physical facility - 100% of activities happen in the community or a client’s home.

Staff can choose how many clients to work with and can collaborate with the families to create a weekly schedule. We need enthusiastic, patient, caring, creative and dependable support workers that are ready to make a difference and integrate into their client’s family with love and kindness.
