About the Role
Schedule:
Mon-Thurs 5pm-7pm (Mon & Tues at mom's house & Wed & Thurs dad's house)
Description: 1A0254G is a 14-year-old boy who is largely independent but benefits from support and supervision. He enjoys going for walks and has recently become interested in going to the gym parents need a DSP who can provide transportation to and from the gym is especially needed. In addition to community outings, he may need reminders and guidance to keep up with household chores or personal tasks.
Support will take place in both parents’ homes. Mom and Dad live approximately 2 miles apart (about a 6-minute drive), so the DSP should feel comfortable working in both locations as needed..
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Able to provide active supervision during walks, outings, and gym visits
Comfortable supporting a largely independent teen with reminders for chores and personal tasks
Willing and able to work in both parents’ homes (located about 2 miles apart and to/from the gym
Reliable, patient, and able to provide positive encouragement
Able to create a safe, supportive, and respectful environment
Must be comfortable with commuting to the clients home (use zip-code 97230 for commute reference)
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
