About the Role
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am arrival at house – 8:00 take to school for 8:30 drop off.
2:45 pick up at school – stay with Andy at house until 5pm.
About the client:
Client is 10 years old affectionate and loving boy, he is non-verbal and is still in pull-ups. Client need support with communication skills and has some sign language available for use. Client may display occasional aggression and needs support with behavioral regulation. Potty training is a primary goal for this client.
Driving is required for this position. Client's family will manage reimbursement personally to DSP, not the agency.
Responsibilities:
DSP will support with Potty training and hygiene tasks
DSP will need to socialize with him, always watch him, keep him safe
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate would have some experience with children with special needs
Comfortable with transporting
Behavior management skills appropriate for working with children with special needs
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
- Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s) 
- Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes. 
- Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift. 
- Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed. 
- Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
