About the Role
Schedule: Mon/Fri after school, around 3:30pm-flexible evening time, Wednesday 1:30pm-flexible evening time and Saturdays any time after 11am.
15-year-old boy. The client loves video games and all things computers. He has a paddle board and would like a someone to go paddle boarding with in the summer. In general, the family hopes to find a DSP who will work with him on self-regulation skills and encourage him to try activities outside of the home
Responsibilities:
- The parents would like a DSP that is very patient and knows about Autism, PDA (pathological demand avoidance) in particular. FRR has a recorded training video we can share about PDA as well.
- Family would like a DSP that is vaccinated for COVID and has their own transportation.
- DSP would be picking him up from school in Sherwood, then driving him home to SE Portland** Drive to Sherwood is unpaid until client is in the car and no mileage reimbursement available.
Requirements
Daily Requirements:
Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s)
Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes.
Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift.
Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments. Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.
Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
