About the Role

Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-7:30pm or Saturday/Sunday, 6- hour shifts available between 8am–8pm

Additional hours available for on-call shifts.

(Potential on-call shift during the week)

Client is a 33-year-old woman who lives independently with her three young children. She enjoys tarot cards and singing, though her time for hobbies is limited due to her busy family life. She is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help her build independence and structure in her daily routine.

Driving is strongly preferred, but not a requirement

Responsibilities:

Support with housekeeping, meal planning, and grocery shopping
Assist with budgeting and financial organization
Encourage and guide self-advocacy and self-care routines
Help access transportation and community resources
Provide support with navigating services and appointments
Qualifications:

Experience supporting adults with independent living skills
Comfortable working in a busy household with children
Strong communication and organizational skills
Compassionate, reliable, and respectful of client autonomy

Requirements

Daily Requirements: 

  • Scheduling – each DSP has a set schedule with the assigned client(s) 

  • Smart phone – use a cell phone to clock in/out for visits and complete the daily progress notes. 

  • Patient, Kind and Positive – caring for clients with disabilities requires someone who can be patient, support the client through kindness and understanding, and provide positive reinforcement throughout the shift. 

  • Driving – depending on the client, they may need to be driven to community events or appointments.  Valid license and insurance required if driving will be needed.  

  • Support – develop and maintain positive working relationships with the assigned client(s), their families and the FRR Support Manager
